Although not monumental in size, this painting was a monumental effort. The painting is a wedding gift from Alison to Allan. Their relationship and various interests are illustrated by objects that Alison specified for the painting. She sent me their shirts, and other treasures like the baseball and inkwell. The caduceus, map of Middle Earth and the silhouettes I had to make. Far more work was done prior to putting brush to canvas in this painting than any other I have attempted. Painting a landscape through the window required many hours of research on the Internet to view photographs of the area in California where they live. I am so proud of this painting! It was a lot of work but really a great deal of fun too. I love doing these symbolic paintings so very much. |
