These four paintings were done for a special show at the Beck Gallery in Land O Lakes, Florida in the spring of 2006. The criteria for entering work in that show was that it had to be on canvas that was purchased at the Gallery in advance and then painted, sculpted, or otherwise embellished as the artist wished. It was an interesting idea and the show was quite spectacular as the walls were covered from floor to ceiling with canvases from many Tampa artists. I chose for my subject “Dawn” and the top two paintings were from the dawn at my house and the bottom two were the dawn at Madeira Beach on the Gulf Coast north of St. Petersburg. |
