I love to paint portraits of people. It is very hard work and requires a lot of skill, concentration, and sometimes luck! A long time ago, many people were encouraging me to paint portraits professionally and I was tempted to find a portrait agency and go down that path. I decided I did not have the personality to work with a middleman, contracts and time schedules and so I decided to enjoy the work and do portraits on commission as they came to me. The oils are more expensive than the pastels, for various reasons.
